The Gold (BBC) is the best British crime drama I've ever seen.

Main Post:

Telling the story of the Brinks Mat heist - the world's biggest bullion robbery - and it's damaging legacy, The Gold has amazing writing, direction, performances (Jack Lowden, Dominic Cooper and Hugh Bonneville are all brilliant) and a truthful recreation of the early 1980s in London.

Full series on BBC iPlayer at the moment, or search it out in your region, you won't regret it

Top Comment: If that’s the best crime drama you’ve ever seen I think you need to be watching more crime dramas

The Gold review – a 24-carat drama about one of the UK’s most shocking robberies (I thought the first episode was solid, and am looking forward to more)

Top Comment: I enjoyed it but I found the pacing kind of... off. Maybe it was all down to the edit but I’m already lost as to who’s involved and in what way. Very enjoyable performances though. Fun seeing Not-Simon-Pegg play a geezer after Slow Horses.

I thought that the ‘The Gold’ was extremely good; here’s Hugh Bonneville on meeting the real detective he portrays, Brian Boyce.

The Gold is missing

Main Post:

I was watching The Gold this past week with my husband. We had 2 episodes left and it's gone. Disappointing there was no warning it was going away.

Has anyone had this with other shows happen on P+?

Top Comment: Weird. It’s missing for me too.

No one stateside seems to be talking about The Gold (now airing on Paramount+ after a BBC run). It rips!

Main Post:

Jack Lowden and Tom Cullen are hot. Plus the hottest of the hotties from The Terror in Adam Nagaitis and his smirk.

Charlotte Spencer is a revelation.

Sean Harris without facial hair.

Proper policing catching proper villains.

Episode two really hit a new high. Excited to catch the remaining four!

I've heard about it around 3 times in the last week but haven't started it yet.

I DID however recently start and finish Deadloch, and had a really good time with that.

Also been meaning to finally check out Mr. Inbetween, but I'm also in the middle of Welcome to Wrexham, Reservation Dogs, Only Murders in the Building, and just started Brand New Cherry Flavor.

It's too much TV, man.
